Warning - LG/Goldstar Spares and Support Withdrawal Recently the new UK importers of LG phone systems issued a notice advising that spares and support for GDK systems would be discontinued by the manufacturer, LG-Nortel, the reason being that these products do not comply with current EU regulations. Taphon have not withdrawn support or maintenance! Naturally, some sales-oriented LG dealers saw this as an opportunity to sell some new equipment and to assist with this aim they withdrew their own support and maintenance for the GDK range, sending out scaremongering e-mails which showed that that they were ready to save their poor unfortunate customers from this decision of theirs. A visit from one of their salesmen would solve all problems, the GDK user would part with hard-earned money for a new system that was not needed and lo, the villainous telephone company becomes the hero! Taphon, the biggest and longest established local maintainer of LG products have not withdrawn support and maintenance for GDK systems and are continuing to look after the GDK range, some of which can even be upgraded to current specifications, although of course this is of no interest to a 'New Systems' sales person. Taphon have a large stock of spare parts, our own workshop and access to an LG approved repair facility so we will continue looking after GDK systems and we would be happy to look after yours if you are still using it. Are you worried about your contract with another maintainer? If they have withdrawn their service, they are repudiating their contract and as such it no longer exists.Were you a former customer of one of the several local telephone companies who unfortunately disappeared recently? Taphon can maintain and support any LG-Nortel, LG or Goldstar system you may have.You need not be forced to trade up or trade out.
